The Drowsy Chaperone Audition Information

Thank you for your interest in auditioning for Creative Grounds Fine Arts Academy's 2022 Community Production: The Drowsy Chaperone. Please read all of the information on this page as the audition process is significantly different from our other productions.

First, there is no item to purchase and you will not receive any emails. containing links. The links to apply will be at the bottom of this page. Please fill out The Audition Paperwork and submit your video upload no later than 11:59:59PM (Midnight) on Monday, May 2, 2022.

THIS IS A CUT SHOW

Unlike our other shows and programs we will be limiting the size of the production as scripted and auditioning for a spot in the show does not guarantee it.

Eligibility

For this show, you must be a person over the age of 16, complete the necessary paperwork, submit your audition video by the deadline, and be an active participant throughout the production. In addition, during the audition paperwork part of the process, you must agree to the CGFAA Actors Code of Conduct.

Fees

The cost of participating in this production is $150 due by June 23 2022, which can be substituted by raising $300 in sponsorship dollars.

Audition Video Submission Requirements

Please submit(via the links below) a short video and include the following:

  • Actor's name
  • Actor's age
  • Any specific role you'd like, and/or that you'd accept any role
  • A 1 minute portion of a song or monologue.

    This should show the directing team your ability to become a character, project your voice and your general speaking ability.

    Also, please note that it is generally frowned upon to pull a part from the show you're auditioning for. We want to see something that best shows your abilities as actor/actress.

Based on the beloved Disney animated film, and featuring a jazzy, upbeat score, Disney’s The Aristocats KIDS is a non-stop thrill ride of feline fun, complete with unbelievable twists and turns. In the heart of Paris, a kind and eccentric millionairess wills her entire estate to Duchess, her high-society cat, and her three little kittens. Laughs and adventure ensue as the greedy, bumbling butler pulls off the ultimate catnap caper. Now it's up to the rough-and-tumble alley cat, Thomas O'Malley, and his band of swingin' jazz cats to save the day.

Creative Grounds Fine Arts Academy Proudly Presents 'The Secret Garden The Musical' mid-ground over a golden background. The sides are shrubberies growing into the foreground.

The Secret Garden is a musical based on the 1911 novel of the same name by Frances Hodgson Burnett. The musical's script and lyrics are by Marsha Norman, with music by Lucy Simon. It premiered on Broadway in 1991 and ran for 709 performances. The story is set in the early years of the 20th century.[n 1] Mary Lennox, a young English girl born and raised in the British Raj, is orphaned by a cholera outbreak when she is ten years old. She is sent away from India to Yorkshire, England, to live in the manor of a brooding uncle she has never met. There, her personality blossoms among the other residents of the manor and the moor as they bring new life to a long-neglected garden.

Creative Grounds Fine Arts Academy Proudly Presents Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella. 'Rodgers & Hammerstein's' name in purple over 'Cinderella' in blue with a glass slipper at the end.

Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella is a musical written for television, but later played on stage, with music by Richard Rodgers and a book and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II. It is based upon the fairy tale Cinderella, particularly the French version Cendrillon, ou la petite pantoufle de verre ("Cinderella, or The Little Glass Slipper"), by Charles Perrault. The story concerns a young woman forced into a life of servitude by her cruel stepmother and self-centered stepsisters, who dreams of a better life. With the help of her Fairy Godmother, Cinderella is transformed into a Princess and finds her Prince.

Sail off on a fantastic musical excursion when a band of comical pirates lands at North Beach looking for an expert digger to join their crew. Braid Beard and his mates enlist young Jeremy Jacob as they look for the perfect spot to bury their treasure. Jeremy learns that adventuring can be lots of fun, but love and home are treasures you can’t find on any map.
