The Drowsy Chaperone Audition Information
Thank you for your interest in auditioning for Creative Grounds Fine Arts Academy's 2022 Community Production: The Drowsy Chaperone. Please read all of the information on this page as the audition process is significantly different from our other productions.
First, there is no item to purchase and you will not receive any emails. containing links. The links to apply will be at the bottom of this page. Please fill out The Audition Paperwork and submit your video upload no later than 11:59:59PM (Midnight) on Monday, May 2, 2022.
THIS IS A CUT SHOW
Unlike our other shows and programs we will be limiting the size of the production as scripted and auditioning for a spot in the show does not guarantee it.
Eligibility
For this show, you must be a person over the age of 16, complete the necessary paperwork, submit your audition video by the deadline, and be an active participant throughout the production. In addition, during the audition paperwork part of the process, you must agree to the CGFAA Actors Code of Conduct.
Fees
The cost of participating in this production is $150 due by June 23 2022, which can be substituted by raising $300 in sponsorship dollars.
Audition Video Submission Requirements
Please submit(via the links below) a short video and include the following:
- Actor's name
- Actor's age
- Any specific role you'd like, and/or that you'd accept any role
- A 1 minute portion of a song or monologue.
This should show the directing team your ability to become a character, project your voice and your general speaking ability.
Also, please note that it is generally frowned upon to pull a part from the show you're auditioning for. We want to see something that best shows your abilities as actor/actress.

2022 Summer Camps
The Great American Road Trip
Join us This Summer for a Trip! Camps will run 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM except for the Circus Adventure Dinner Theatre Camp, which will meet in the evenings from 4:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Camper's should bring their own sack lunch everyday with no nuts of any kind. All Camps total cost is $200 of which $50 is due at the time of registration, with the remainder due two weeks prior to the start of the camp. After paying the registration fee you should receive a link to in your receipt to pay the remainder.
Broadway Aspirations
Ages 8 - 18 June 15 - 18Intensive Auditions and Callbacks Workshop featuring an Auditions Showcase with feedback from Guest Industry Professionals. This is an opportunity to build an acting portfolio. Actors will learn Monologues, 1 minute music cuts, headshots and more. This camp will feature an Artist’s Showcase where students will perform in front of a live audience and industry professionals.
American Adventure
Ages 5 - 12 June 20- June 24This day camp experience features Disney Style Music and Acting from American Stories like Princess and the Frog, Pocahontas, Dumbo, Cars and more. Camp features workshops in music, acting and choreography, crafts, and games. There will be a showcase at the end of the week.

Ages 8 - 16 June 27 - July 1Take a trip on Route 66, this camp features music and script excerpts from musicals set along this historic roadway including selections from Meet Me in St. Louis, Oklahoma, Chicago, Newsies and more. Students will attend workshop sessions in acting, music and choreography.

Ages 12 - 18 July 18 - July 23A Remix of our Original Under the Big Top Dinner Theater, featuring music from Barnum, Greatest Showman and more. This camp will conclude with two dinner theater performances on Saturday Afternoon and Evening. Students will work with a script, have opportunities to learn improvisation and music. This is an intensive theater immersion experience with a full production at the conclusion of the week.

2022 Fund Raising Gala
Saturday, March 5th, Creative Grounds Fine Arts Academy will be having its annual fund raising gala for 2022: A Night on Broadway: Field of Dreams. The Sycamore at Mallow Run will again be hosting the event with Smokehouse Catering Company Providing the meal for the evening. Enjoy as our hosts Terry Waggoner and Todd Ferris take us on a night of stories, performances, love and dreams as we help Creative Grounds celebrate another year. Attire is business formal: black-tie optional.

Seating is round tables of seven-ten people at each table. If you have a seating request (i.e. “we would like to be seated with the Miller Party”), please add that request in the “Additional Information/Order Notes” section
Auction
Our online auction is a great way to support the Creative Grounds Fine Arts Academy. You can bid using the website or the Auctria Mobile App. Unable to attend the gala? No problem! You can still participate in the online auction.
The online auction will begin on Feburary 25th, 2022 (two weeks before the gala) and will end during the gala on March 5, 2022. You can pre-register as a bidder soon and see some of the items up for auction.
Winning bidders can pick up their items at the gala. If not attending, arrangements will be made with the winning bidder to receive their items. Items will NOT be shipped by Creative Grounds. Any costs related to shipping will be the responsibility of the winning bidder.

All You
Need Is Love
Join Creative Grounds Fine Arts Academy for an hour and a half of song and romance. For our 2022 Valentine's Day Show, All You Need is Love, a team of our talented directors and staff alongside members from our Student Leadership Team will be preforming modern love songs in Studio One. For this performance Creative Grounds be rolling out the red carpet with our more intimate seating arrangements.

Troy, Gabriella and the students of East High must deal with issues of love, friends and family while balancing their classes and extra curricular activities. The show’s infectious, danceable songs are sure to engage performers and audiences alike.

Creative Grounds Spring 2022 Classes
Creative Grounds Fine Arts Academy classes are for students of all ages and all skill levels. Our instructors pride themselves on solid professional technique yet meet each student where they are. We believe the most important thing our students will learn is confidence.
Just as this past Fall, each of Creative Grounds' Classes will be offered in 2 sessions. The first of the two sessions will meet from January through March, and the second March through May. Creative Grounds would also like to encourage you to take a look at participating in one of our productions and our offering of musical lessons as you consider your child's spring schedule.
Dance Classes
Our instructor Christa Zook has been dancing for 35 years and has been teaching for 20. She prides herself in teaching professional technique at any skill level or capability. The only requirement is proper shoes should the style require them. Students will learn stretching and specific dance style technique. They will also learn a short piece they will perform at a showcase at the end of each session. You will find CGFAA classes a little different from your typical studio. Expensive costumes will not be required to purchase. We keep things simple and focus on students growth and having FUN!

Students will learn the basics of jazz dance.

Actor's Classes
Katie Landis, who teaches our Actor's Classes, is a Co-founder of Creative Grounds Fine Arts Academy and currently serves as Youth Development Director. Katie has a B.A. in Communications with a Major in Worship Arts and Youth Ministry from Judson University. Katie has worked with kids in a variety of camp, school and church settings.

Imagination Station
Mondays 5:30 PM to 6:15 PMImagination Station is our class for ages 4 through 8. This class focuses on using the imagination while learning the basics of theater. Musical theater comes to life through a series of engaging scenes. This is a highly supportive environment for youngsters to develop their courage to act, sing and dance. The level of challenge fits the needs of the group so that this introduction to musical theater is a positive experience for all. An excellent choice to build self-confidence, discover talent, and learn if your child would enjoy musical theater. Each class will include acting, improvisational games, creative movement, singing and rehearsals with costumes and props. This class will have a presentation of their mini-show with scenes and songs at the studio showcase.

An excellent choice to build self-confidence, discover new skills and continue to grow as an actor. Students will Participate in the Semester Showcase with a Monologue and group piece.
